Re: Baylor-SMU Game

Just a last note on JJ - some of you don't like him but everyone outside of SMU thinks he is a great hire and fit. Last spring was a disaster I agree but if JJ says he is committed I think he is.

On some thinking that SMU could match Baylor's talent, I don't know about that. Briles has put 5 ...

Baylor-SMU Game

I came over to the board yesterday but there was way too many upset people. First, I went to the game and one thing I believe all Baylor people agree with is how nice SMU fan base is. After dealing with TT and A&M it is a relief.

Baylor ran away with the game but SMU shot itself in the foot. SMU ...

Re: USAToday: Stanford/Baylor ponder life after Luck/Griffi

I think it will be a very close game but I think Baylor's home field will be an advantage. DL was already a question mark and took a big hit but Baylor has upgraded LBs, DBs, RBs,WR (may be strongest in the nation). Last issue is OL with Baylor playing two very inexperienced but talented tackles.

I ...

Re: Irony

Baptist as a denomination is getting smaller. Many former Baptists are now non-denominational. Baylor is still very much a Christian school, just not very Baptist any more. Even funds given to Baylor by Baptists is reduced.

SMU is much more secular than Baylor and less Methodist than Baylor is ...

Re: Baylor NG OUT for the Year

It is definitely career ending. Briles said he was good enough to be drafted next year. No depth, questionable and inexperienced talent at DT this year.

Re: USAToday: Stanford/Baylor ponder life after Luck/Griffi

Baylor's best DT has a career ending back problem and will have surgery this week. For SMU game, Baylor will start a senior DT and the rest will be redshirts and true freshman.

Florence will protect the ball but won't make many spectacular plays but will have plenty of WRs to make big plays. One ...

Baylor is barely Baptist, SMU is even less Methodist.

Re: OFFICIAL: SMU/Baylor Prediction Thread

Baylor does have two injuries: Johnson who is Baylor's best DT and Kaufold who is a starter on OL. Both are expected to play in the first game but neither will be at 100%. It will be one senior and 3 freshman (2 RFS) on the DL. That should give SMU a boost.

Re: OFFICIAL: SMU/Baylor Prediction Thread

I can't see SMU winning on the road with a new QB. Baylor returns 16 starters. Although Baylor lost their best WR (they have one of the top projected WRs for next years draft back) and RB (don't think there will be a drop off here), Baylor did lose RGIII which will really hurt. However Briles, like ...

Re: SMU-Baylor Prediction

Pretty unforgiving crowd. Just a simple mistake. Only had a moment and typed before I looked. In the Baylor world this is normally done the week of the game so I guess both sites are a little ahead of the game.

SMU-Baylor Prediction

I just read through a prediction post on one of paid Baylor paid sites. In all transparency there were 3 pages and i didn't see SMU winning in any of the predictions. Just wondering if you guys feel the same? What do you predict the score will be?

Re: SMU-Baylor

I can't imagine anyone saying Margus isn't great. Baylor's ability to neutralize him may be the key to the game for Baylor. He is a BEAST.

Re: Matt Mosley and the BIC (Baylor Inferiority Complex)

Mosely does love Baylor and while it can be over the top Baylor hasn't had a lot of people brave enough to support them on the air. To us it is kind of nice....but I don't listen to them I also listen to 105.3. I hate all the non-sports stuff especially the cheesy and slimy sex stuff like Sybils ...

Re: SMU-Baylor

I think in the in the end what will decide the game will be SMU's OL play. If SMU can control the line of scrimmage and develop a running attack while keeping the rush off of Gilbert and giving LIne some holes SMU has a good chance of winning. On Baylor's side, we lost 2 DTs but our returning 2 DTs ...

Re: SMU-Baylor

Great responses. I think Baylor returns 15 starters from last year. Our OL returns some good players but both tackles are new which will be a challenge. Our WRs may be the best in the nation as a group. Our RBs may be our second strongest position. QB? I like Florence but his arm isn't that strong ...
