Re: UTEP SMU Game
Playing UTEP at the stadium in the mountain is a whole different experience. There will be plenty of BBQ grills smoking out the parking lot. It will drift unto the field as well. Remember the officiating. It will be horribly one-sided. SMU needs 30 to win. They have to beat Utep and the officials ...

Re: Thoughts on June handling Gilbert
I keep hearing that this guy looks great in practice but it doesn't transcend to the game. There is a good reason for that. It's the blue shirt he wears in practice. It serves as a stop sign, as in don't hit. When game time comes the Qb wears either white or red and the defense does try to hit him ...

Re: Gregory in one year takes SMU to # 2 in the Nation!
the point that apparently escaped you Gotcha - is that there is an intense emphasis on recruiting from our excellent golf coach - and that paid off in short order. No such energy has been seen for football since JJ's arrival.

Re: Gregory in one year takes SMU to # 2 in the Nation!
Are you kidding? You compare a sport with 5-6 players vs a sport that depends on 85? I noticed some underclass men on the roster. You get 2-3 good ones and you are set. In football, you get 2-3 good ones and you get what you have now. Try turning a program around with 2-3 recruits. Delete this ...

Re: Now That SMU Is Past All The BCS Teams We Will Be Fine
Although UCF can't win it, they can put another loss on the record. Utep will be difficult. USM will be as we'll. UH always has athletes, and Tulsa will play hard. Could easily be another 4 losses. Think JJ is here after 5-7, and no bowl? Might not get a bowl by going 6-6 due to beating a FCS for 1 ...

Re: Gilbert is not the problem
I agree, Gilbert isn't what was hoped for, but he isn't the reason this team is in trouble. Think back to the day Orsini and Turner took Jones back to SMU after he crapped all over SMU's Big East announcement and recruiting trip. The inability to fire his [deleted] and send a message is why you have ...

Re: Check out what is going on in Chicago!!
Ok - its time for us to do a business school best practices study on the schools that have found success in similar environments to ours. And one that jumps off the page is Northwestern. What have they done to turn that around? 5 -0 at this point - including BC, Vanderbilt and Syracuse (not exactly ...

Never should have allowed the chump to come back after he left for ASU. Orsini should have been fired sooner for allowing the scum to return....Lilly? Anyone see where the volleyball team practices?

Re: Preston
Play call? Play call?
There isn't any. Remember, the receivers react to the safetys, and hope everyone in the offense is on the same page. It's an incredible offense...when it works.
No, there is a play run EVERY snap. Pass plays are actually called and each receiver has options. The rushing ...

Re: Thoughts on the state of the team...
Stallion's right in his post. I remember the Hawaii Bowl (watched and rewatched many times) and those passes from Padron were far from perfect. The receivers fought for those catches. This group is not doing that.

I remember some of us had mentioned that Jonesy was wishing he was in Arizona......some of us were hoping for him to go to Arizona as well....5-7.
Re: Preston
This is the worst offense I can recall since 2008. No play-makers. Zilch, nada, zero. Drops, overthrows, under throws, picks, down right poor throws no where near the intended target. O-line is sloooooooooooooowwwwwww. We get out-quicked and qb is pressured or sacked. Very accurate in practice ...
